Based on the rapid increases (RI) and decreases (RD) of each taxon, a clear assignment of tie points is accomplished. The RI of N. koizumii and RD of N. kamtschatica coincide with the top of Gauss at 2.581 Ma. The RD of N. koizumii and RI of N. seminae coincide with the top of Olduvai at 1.778 Ma.
