Pore waters were extracted using novel pore water sampling devices known as Rhyzon samplers, which are slender filters (2 mm x 30 mm, 1 micron) attached to syringes or vacutainers. The Rhyzons were inserted into the sediment through small holes drilled in the core-liner every ~5 cm and the pore water (~ 2 mL) was extracted under vacuum. Supplementary Rhyzon sampling data includes a figure comparing multisensor track (MST) data before and after pore water extraction (EPS format), a figure caption (text file), and the raw data (Excel spreadsheet).
