This is because the log is based on downhole logging data, resulting in offsets with recovered core, which corresponds to the curated depths (see "Igneous petrology" and "Downhole Logging"). For example, the recovered length of sedimentary Unit VI is only 0.5 m, whereas the logging data shows that the unit is 4.5 m thick.
