Figure F6. Photograph and illustration of “genius plug” deployed in Hole C0010A during Expedition 332. Plug includes pressure and temperature measurements, a standard OsmoSampler with two 2ML1 Alzet membranes, and a microbial colonization experiment (FLOCS; Orcutt et al., 2010), which includes some local material in the chambers that was attached to two pumps, each with two 2ML1 Alzet membranes. The OsmoSampler and FLOCS were designed to fit a diameter of 10.8 cm and a length of 20.2 cm.
