The overburden stress is calculated from integrating bulk density data from ODP Site 1073. Pressure plotted is the extrapolated tip pressure (see Fig. F39). The overpressure ratio (λ*) is equal to 0.2. Overpressure is 20% of the difference between the overburden and the hydrostatic pressure.
