The wedge shape of this bed is the result of core rotation during extended core barrel drilling. B. Example of reddish brown chert with mottles that are accompanied by significant magnetic susceptibility peaks. Surrounding lithology is nannofossil chalk with clay (light green below chert) and nannofossil chalk (greenish white above chert). C. Mid-Turonian laminated clayey nannofossil chalk with well-preserved, slump-induced overturning. D. Red radiolarian chert hosted in pinkish white nannofossil chalk overlying the OAE. E. Laminated nannofossil claystone with radiolarians that directly overlie the black shale.
