Three different primer mixtures were used for each Bacteria (Bac) and Archaea (Arc). Bac 806Fmod-908R, Bac 908F-1075R, Arc 806F-915R, and Arc 915F-1059R were used with DNA extracted by the chemical lysis method. Bac 27F-338R and Arc 806F-958R were used with DNA extracted by the hot alkaline lysis method.
