Expedition schedule

Expedition 339 is based on Integrated Ocean Drilling Program drilling Proposal 644-Full2 and ancillary proposal letter APL-763 (available at iodp.tamu.edu/scienceops/expeditions/mediterranean_outflow.html). Following ranking by the IODP Scientific Advisory Structure, the expedition was scheduled for the research vessel JOIDES Resolution, operating under contract with the US Implementing Organization. At the time of publication of this Scientific Prospectus, the expedition is scheduled to start in Ponta Delgada, Azores Islands (Portugal), on 17 November 2011 and to end in Lisbon, Portugal, on 17 January 2012. A total of 56 days will be available for the drilling, coring, and downhole measurements described in this report (for the current detailed schedule, see iodp.tamu.edu/scienceops/).
