Objective(s):
|
This northernmost primary site will target the tropical to subtropical transition from the Pliocene to the Pleistocene updip from a drowned “fossil” reef. Improved ages for these reflectors will allow us to date this reef. The strata at this site may yield an interglacial record of the Australian monsoon. In addition, paleobathymetric analyses may shed light on the nature of the subsidence that drowned the nearby reef.
