Schedule for Expeditions 320 and 321

Expeditions 320 and 321 (Pacific equatorial age transect [PEAT]) are derived from the original Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP) drilling Proposal 626-Full2 (available for download from the Equatorial Pacific expeditions Web page at iodp.tamu.edu/scienceops/expeditions/equatorial_pacific.html). Expeditions 320 and 321 are scheduled for the JOIDES Resolution, operating under contract with the U.S. Implementing Organization (USIO).

Expedition 320 is currently scheduled to begin in Papeete, Tahiti, in March 2009 and to end in Honolulu, Hawaii, in May 2009. A total of 30.1 days will be available for the drilling, coring, and downhole measurements described in this report.

Expedition 321 is currently scheduled to begin in Honolulu, Hawaii, in May 2009 and to end in Astoria, Oregon, in July 2009. However, this plan includes cementing operations at two of the Juan de Fuca sites (IODP Expedition 301). The PEAT scientific party will disembark the ship earlier in San Diego, California. A total of 29 days will be available for the drilling, coring, and downhole measurements described in this report.

At the time of publication, the ship's schedule could still be modified and readers should refer to the current detailed JOIDES Resolution's schedule available at iodp.tamu.edu/scienceops. Further details on the Juan de Fuca remedial cementing operations can be found at iodp.tamu.edu/scienceops/expeditions/juan_de_fuca.html. Details on the JOIDES Resolution can be found at iodp.tamu.edu/publicinfo/drillship.html.
